Here Lately
Cycling through life's seasons
I don’t have much to say about this recent effort. It represents the seasons we cycle through that come and go and sometimes come back again.
Oh, and if you’re looking for a little light entertainment, you can do worse than streaming Frasier reruns.
Thanks for spending a moment with me in this busy season.
Here Lately This spring we watch Frasier reruns each night before bed—so much so my dreams start to become like one. A faint craving overtakes me, jonesing vaguely for something I can’t quite lay my finger on. Fruit flies begin to appear singly— first here, then there—in the bathroom, the kitchen. I resist getting into bed at night only to resist getting out again in the morning, try to keep from waking too early, too late, seldom finding the sweet spot when the digits align in the right order on the luminous clock. Then I sit up in bed bare-chested, roll my legs over the edge, stand unsteady, find slippers and shirt, walk from the bedroom into the demi-gloom descended upon the house.

Hey Donald,
The way the speaker decides to walk into the gloom is revelatory.
Best,
